When horse and rider become partners then they become one!
Farm owner/instructor Sandy Dolan has 54 years of horse experience under her belt. She was a 4H horse and pony leader sending teams up to the Hoosier Horse Fair 4H competitions in groom and clean, horse bowl, and hippology with many wins at state. She also was involved in Pony Club when her girls were in it for many years as well. Sandy developed her lesson program on these experiences with youth equine programs and has incorporated their safety protocols into the lesson program. We give both western and english lessons here. The program uses games such as barrel racing, pole bending, and flags, and disciplines as jumping and dressage, among others, to develop riding skills while students having fun learning. We also teach students problem solving skills to ensure they are able to handle any problems that may arise while riding. We teach these kids to be independent, confident, and compassionate horse kids equipped with great horsemanship skills and knowledge.
Former lesson student Anna Neafus graduated out of our lesson program and went on to buy her own horse and show in both english and western events. She assisted farm owner Sandy Dolan with lessons and helped with the farm's annual fall fun show over the years. Anna has now joined the program as an instructor and is very familiar with the program and the lesson horses. Anna earned her way into the program. Anna's students adore her.
